Get Healthy

All it takes is one step each day to live a healthier lifestyle

OneStep encourages youth to #GetHealthy through proper nutrition, sleep, exercise, healthy relationships, and abstinence or reduced use of substances, such as alcohol, marijuana, and e-cigarettes. We define #GetHealthy as empowering youth with knowledge and resources to attain their full health potential (e.g., social, emotional, intellectual, psychological, physical, etc.).

Mental Health Exercises and Activities

Gratitude Journal

By default, our attention is drawn to problems and obstacles in life. This exercise helps you notice, in ways both big and small, what is going well. Keep a journal where you write in detail about things you are grateful for in your life.

Gratitude Letter

Gratitude letters help you focus on the positive influence of another person in your life. This reminds you that someone cares about you, and that you matter. In addition, reading the letter to your chosen person can be a powerful experience for you and the recipient—more than you originally expected.

Three Good Things

This brief exercise helps you reflect on the many things that happen every day. Over time, you begin to look for things in your day to add to your list!

My Values Exercise

By reflecting on your values in writing, you can affirm your identity and self-worth, creating a virtuous cycle of confidence, effort, and achievement.
